ViDOFON is sponsor of the Close Encounters Festival for New Music 2007/2008
The Georgian/Swiss Close Encounters Festival for New Music was established in 2005. According to Steven Spielbergs sciene-fiction-movie „Close Encounters of the Third Kind“ multimedia-based creations of different kinds come together at this festival. This year’s festival takes place with different concerts between October 17th, 2007 and March 07th, 2008.
Almost all creations, which are presented in Tbilisi and Telavi, are frist released in Georgia. Among them two big compositions of chamber music by Giya Kancheli, who will attend the concert. The program with elektroacustic music is considered as an absolut premier: the most important milestones of the 60-years history will be introduced and commented. The opening concert with the trio Trafique belongs into this context: the ensemble favours to perform new music in conjunction with electronic or visual media.
It is typical for Close Encounters to make the visits in both directions – the 4 Swiss concerts take place in February and March 2008 in Zurich, Winterthur and Uster.
ViDOFON supports this cross-national idea with sponsoring. As a service provider in video conferencing ViDOFON has meanwhile implemented video conferencing systems in more than 40 countries.
